Load/Reload fee JPY Free Load or Reload means funding the Card Account.
Foreign exchange fee JPY 4% of the used amount The fee will apply when withdrawing in the local currency at overseas ATMs, or when using the card for shopping at overseas Visa affiliate stores.
The foreign exchange fees listed on the left will only be applied when using the JPY balance and calculated from the used JPY amount for payment or withdrawal. This fee will be deducted from the card balance.
When using the card in Japan, only the JPY balance will be used for settlement and foreign exchange rate fee will not be applied.
ATM withdrawal fee *1 JPY JPY 200

The fee will apply when withdrawing in the local currency.
The fee will be deducted from the card balance.

Refund fee JPY JPY 500

When the out standing balance on the GAICA card is refunded to an account designated by the Member.

The fee will apply when reissuing the card.

Card statement issuance fee

The card will be sent to the specified address made by the member.
The card may not be sent due to the circumstances of country and/or region.

  • *1 As an ATM owner, financial institutions may also charge the fee (hereinafter 'transaction fee/ATM usage fee'). The transaction fee/ATM usage fee will differ according to the financial institution in charge of the ATM.

  • *4 Customers who have issued their cards before June 25, 2017 will have their Domestic (in Japan) shopping limit set at JPY 0. Please login to the Member-Only Site and change the credit limit.

How to Use

How to Load The deposit for the load will be transferred to the designated Card Account at Mitsui Sumitomo Bank.
  • The uploaded balance will be reflected on 10 a.m, 1 p.m, 4 p.m in Japan Standard Time(JST) on business day.
  • The customer will bear the cost of the transfer.
    Fees will vary by financial institution time zone and the day of the week.
How to use The services mentioned below can be used within the card balance.
  • ・Shopping at overseas/domestic (Japan) Visa affiliate stores (1 time payment option only)
  • ・Withdrawing amounts from overseas ATMs with "Visa" or "Plus" logo (The maximum withdrawal amount will be the equivalent of JPY 300,000 per month regardless of the local currency.)
    • 1 month refers to the 1st day (0:00:00) of the month to the last day of the month (23:59:59) in Japan Standard Time(JST)
    • Withdrawals will not be available at Japanese domestic ATMs.
    • The JPY conversion rate applied will be by the international brand Visa’s JPY conversion rate.
Refunds Refunds will be made to the account designated by the customer.
Please ask for the "GAICA払い戻し依頼書" application form from the GAICA Customer Service Desk. Fill in the necessary information on the form and send it back to us with the postage paid envelope we have sent.

Confirming account balance The balance and total usage (from 1 day to 1 month) can be confirmed from the card balance inquiry menu of the Member-Only Site.
Confirming account activity Account activity for the past 6 months can be confirmed from the account activity menu on the Member-Only Site.
Changing PIN We will reissue a new card when changing your PIN. Please contact GAICA Customer Service Desk for assistance.
  • Card reissuance fee will apply when reissuing a new card (please confirm fees on “Fees” section)
Suspending/Reactivating your card The “利用停止・解除” (Suspend/Reactivate) function will be available on the top menu of the Member-Only Site.
Canceling your card You can apply for cancellation of your card on the “解約申込” (Cancel) menu of the Member-Only Site.
  • Cancellation will not be available until the amount used is confirmed.
  • Cancellation will not be available until the refund is completed. Refund fee will apply.
