Important notes on loading foreign currencies

We have stopped accepting loads for the prepaid card "GAICA (Flex)" as of January 31, 2024.

  • ・Loaded balance in 4 foreign currencies, it can only be used in areas where the currency is the local currency.
    (USD : USD currency area、EUR : EURO currency area、GBP : Starling currency area、AUD : Australian dollar currency area)
  • ・When using your GAICA Flex Prepaid Card overseas, any balance in the corresponding local currency that you have loaded to your card will be withdrawn. If you do not have sufficient balance in that currency, funds will automatically be exchanged and withdrawn from any JPY balance, you have loaded to your GAICA Flex Prepaid Card.

Over 200 countries and territories
You can use both in Japan and overseas.
You can load your GAICA Flex Prepaid Card prepaid card with Japanese Yen and withdraw funds in the local currency at 2.6 million VISA & Plus Cash Dispenser or ATMs free of charge in more than 200 countries and territories (As of June 30, 2016). You can use your card for shopping at overseas/domestic (Japan) Visa affiliate stores within the card balance.
  • *When using your GAICA Flex Prepaid Card overseas and using the JPY balance, foreign exchange fees will also apply.

Case 3Withdraw in the local currency which is not the currency loaded onto the card (e.g. withdraw Brazilian real, BRL 200 in Brazil)

In case of withdrawing in the local currency which you didn't load onto the card, the entire amount will be deducted from the JPY balance
